[92 Wine Advocate] The entry-level 2011 Barolo Lecinquevigne is produced with fruit that is sourced from various points throughout the appellation. I highly enjoyed tasting this wine and I enthusiastically recommend it as a result, especially thanks to its affordable price tag. Some 60,000 bottles were produced. Barolo Lecinquevigne opens to bright cherry and blackberry aromas that are followed by delicate tones of spice, tar and licorice. The finish is long and smooth.[91 James Suckling] A Barolo with a lovely core of ripe fruit, velvety tannins and a rich, fruity, spicy finish. Savory and delicious. Yet shows grip with tannin structure at the finish.[90 Antonio Galloni] Damilano's 2011 Barolo Lecinquevigne is a very pretty, entry-level Barolo. Succulent red cherries, sweet spices, tobacco, mint and leather are all pushed forward. Drink this open-knit, forward Barolo over the next handful of years.
