Poggio Granoni is a Super Tuscan which is 70% Sangiovese with 10% each of Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spends 18 months in French oak, 40% of which was new. It is a dark and thick wine with balanced extraction and evident power. The bouquet opens with bold cherry fruit, spice, leather, tobacco, and dried rose petal. Ripe dark cherries, sweet herbs, worn-in leather, tobacco and licorice unfold beautifully on the palate in this generous red.
